Natural Pond Installation in Bexwell – Built via FaceTime

Yeah, We Built a Pond Over FaceTime. And It Turned Out Unreal.

Most people use FaceTime for catching up with mates or checking their teeth before a meeting. We used it to build a natural pond — in Bexwell — while the client watched from California.

No, seriously.

This wasn’t a consult or a moodboard chat. This was a full-blown, GPS-surveyed, CAT-scanned, ecosystem-engineered pond — designed and built without the client ever stepping foot on site.

The Process:

We started by surveying the garden using our GPS kit, then CAT scanned the area to make sure we weren’t digging into any services (because, y’know, exploding a water main ruins the vibe).

Once the layout was mapped, the brief was simple:

“You’ve got full artistic licence — just make sure there’s a structure in the middle.”

That’s it. Everything else? Left to us. Design, shape, depth, flow, planting, even the exact placement of features. It’s rare to get that level of trust, and it meant we could build something that actually works with the landscape — not against it.

FaceTime: The Surprise MVP

With the client based in California, we used FaceTime to walk them around the site in real-time, explain design decisions, and get sign-off.

At one point they changed their mind about a layout detail mid-planning. No drama. We pivoted, problem-solved, and implemented it without slowing the schedule.

The Result: Zero-Maintenance Magic

What we delivered was more than just a pretty pond. It’s a fully functional natural ecosystem that:

  • Self-maintains, filtering itself and supporting wildlife

  • Waters the turf and surrounding plants with zero effort

  • And most importantly…
Looks like it’s always been there.

The client nailed it in their own words:

“I never usually write reviews but Morgan did an outstanding job on our pond. He is extremely knowledgeable, advised us on layout, depth etc and even when we changed our mind at the last minute he pivoted and implemented what we wanted. The work was done on time and the finished result was more than we expected. The pond is the focal point of our garden and exactly what we wanted.”

💬 Final Thoughts

Could we do this again? 100%.

Would we recommend building every pond over FaceTime? Probably not.

But when the trust is there, and the tools are in place — yeah, we’ll make magic happen.
