My Story

The journey that shaped a craftsman, and the pond business that followed.

“Raised in ponds, refined at Chelsea, driven by passion.”

I'm Morgan Abbott, and ponds have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a family-run pond and lake business, so while most kids were enjoying school holidays, I was knee-deep in water, helping out on jobs. At the time, I saw it as a chore—but looking back, those early experiences gave me years of hands-on knowledge that you can’t teach in a classroom.

In 2015, I was proud to be part of the team working on the Prince Harry Sentebale Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show—an incredible opportunity that opened my eyes to the highest level of design and craftsmanship in the industry. After sixth form, I returned full-time to the family business, helping to lead projects and later contributing to RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court again in 2019, working alongside Gold Medal-winning designers.

After several years, I stepped away to try something new and became a self-employed digger contractor. While the work was steady, it never gave me the same satisfaction or sense of purpose I’d felt around ponds and aquatic environments. Something was missing.

In 2025, a close friend encouraged me to get back to what I love—and that was the turning point. From that moment, ABBCO was born.

ABBCO isn’t just a business; it’s a return to my roots, built on a lifetime of experience, passion, and pride in creating beautiful, healthy water spaces. Whether I’m building a new pond, restoring an old one, or safely transporting fish, I bring the same care and commitment to every job—because for me, this work is personal.
